The victim was riding west on Taggart Avenue around 5 p.m. and was crossing New Market Street when she was struck by an SUV. She was taken to Self Regional Medical Center and did sustain life threatening injuries.

For four years the facility has been hosting the prom as a way to make the residents feel special. All residents have the chance to get dressed up, dance and enjoy the evening in a special way. Event organizer Janice Branham works with Goodwill Industries to collect dresses and suits for the residents to borrow for the evening. "When I look around and see evernone daning and smiling, its like they don't have dementia, they are just their regular self doing what they did before," Branham said.
